Kolormatrix was founded by Tanya with a simple belief:

Too often, suppliers focused their attention on high-volume printers — sending experts, offering resources, and building relationships only with the biggest shops. Tanya saw an opportunity to do something different.
She believed startup and mid-sized printers deserved access to professional-grade training, real technical support, and proven products that could help them compete, grow, and become more profitable.
Kolormatrix was built around helping customers develop the skills and confidence needed to reach the next level — whether they were printing from a garage, launching a side business, or building a production shop from the ground up.

Meet Brian
From Technical Sales to Helping Printers Succeed
Brian Toney’s journey in printing began long before Kolormatrix.
After serving as a Cryptological Technician in the United States Navy, Brian developed a disciplined, problem-solving mindset that would later shape his approach to technical support, production systems, and customer education.
In 1988, Brian entered the apparel decoration industry with Advance Process in technical sales. Through years of hands-on experience and countless technical courses, Brian steadily advanced through the organization, ultimately reaching the company’s highest sales and support role as Senior Account Manager after five years.
But Brian’s passion extended beyond selling products.
He wanted to help printers solve problems, improve production, and build stronger businesses.
A few years later, Brian became one of the founders of Freedom Imaging Solutions and Colorburst UV Coatings, focusing on technical consulting, production support, and servicing many of the largest printing operations throughout the Southeast.
Working alongside major production facilities provided valuable experience, but over time Brian discovered something important:
Many of the industry's most passionate printers — startup shops and growing businesses — often lacked access to the same technical guidance and hands-on support available to larger companies.
That mission aligned perfectly with Tanya’s vision.
When Tanya founded Kolormatrix in 2011, the company focused on helping printers through better products, stronger support, and real-world education.
Then approximately 10 years ago, Kolormatrix expanded into hands-on training and on-site consulting, creating programs built around practical production methods and real shop environments.
That eventually led to the launch of the 3 Day Professional Screen Printing Class — now one of the highest reviewed training programs in the nation.
