DTF Artwork Services

An image may look good on a phone or computer screen and still create problems when it is printed as a DTF transfer. Low resolution, unwanted backgrounds, rough edges, incorrect sizing and poorly prepared transparency can affect the finished result.

Depending on the service selected and the condition of the submitted file, preparation may include:

Basic DTF Artwork Service

Choose the Basic service when the original artwork is already in reasonably good condition but needs straightforward production preparation. This may include background removal, sizing, resolution setup and other basic corrections needed for DTF printing.

Advanced DTF Artwork Service

Choose the Advanced service when the image requires more involved cleanup, edge work, rebuilding, enhancement or print-focused preparation. Advanced service is the better starting point for difficult raster artwork, soft or damaged edges, complicated backgrounds and files that need more than a simple production adjustment.

Simulated Process Color Separations

Detailed screen-printing artwork cannot simply be divided into colors and sent to film. Successful simulated process printing depends on how the image, garment color, underbase, highlights, halftones, ink colors and print sequence work together on press.

Our simulated process separation service is designed for screen printers who want professional production files for detailed, multi-color artwork—especially graphics intended for dark garments.

The separation is prepared around the needs of screen printing rather than the appearance of the original image alone. The objective is to create printable channels that help the press reproduce depth, tonal transitions, highlights and color relationships using a practical screen-printing workflow.

The final requirements depend on the artwork and the shop that will print it. Before production, confirm details such as:

• Garment color

• Maximum number of print colors or available press stations

• Desired printed size

• Ink system and available ink colors

• Mesh counts and screen capabilities

• Film-output requirements

• Preferred halftone frequency, angle and dot shape when applicable

Better information helps us prepare better production artwork. Whenever possible, provide:

• The best-quality original file available

• The required finished print size in inches

• The intended printing method: DTF or screen printing

• Garment color and fabric information

• A reference image showing the intended appearance

• Any required colors or brand standards

• Your production deadline

For simulated process work, also include the maximum number of colors your press can accommodate and any production limitations we should consider.

Please do not enlarge or repeatedly resave a small internet image before submitting it. Send the best original version you have and allow us to evaluate it.
