Compact 17" DTF Printer with Inline Glue Station

DTF Production Without the Production Line

The DTF Station Vega S17 is built for shops that want a complete DTF workflow without dedicating a large amount of floor space to separate equipment.

With the Vega S17, the goal is simple:

Print. Powder. Cure. Cut.

All in one compact production footprint.

The printer uses a 15" printable image area and works with sheets up to 15" × 18.4", while an integrated glue station beneath the printer handles powder and curing. An inline shuttle cutter then trims each sheet to length.

That means finished DTF sheets can come out of the system ready for the next step without manually cutting every sheet by hand.

For embroidery shops, screen printers, boutiques, schools, startups, and smaller production environments, the Vega S17 offers a very different way to think about bringing DTF in-house.

Why the Vega S17 Is Different

Most DTF production setups involve multiple pieces of equipment.

A typical workflow may require:

Printer → Powder/Shaker → Dryer → Cutting → Heat Press

The Vega S17 combines several of those production steps into one compact system.

Its integrated workflow is designed around:

  • printing
  • adhesive application
  • curing
  • sheet cutting

That can reduce the amount of manual handling required between printing and finishing.

15" Printable Image Area

The Vega S17 provides a 15-inch image width.

Supported sheet size:

15" × 18.4"

That makes it a practical size for common apparel decoration work such as:

  • left-chest logos
  • full fronts
  • medium back prints
  • youth graphics
  • small gang layouts
  • short-run custom artwork
  • business logos
  • team and school designs

For shops that do not need 24", 33", or wider production, the 15" image area can provide a useful balance between capability and footprint.

Print, Powder and Cure in One Footprint

One of the Vega S17's biggest advantages is the way the production system is arranged.

The glue station sits under the printer rather than beside it.

That helps reduce the overall floor-space requirement and keeps the workflow compact.

Instead of creating a long equipment line, the S17 stacks more of the workflow vertically.

That can be particularly valuable in:

  • embroidery shops
  • retail spaces
  • home-based businesses
  • schools
  • smaller production rooms
  • crowded screen-printing shops

Inline Cutting

After printing, powdering, and curing, an inline shuttle cutter trims each sheet to length.

Supported sheet length:

9.8"–19.7"

That means operators do not have to manually cut every finished sheet from a continuous roll.

For short-run production, custom names, individual orders, or sheet-based workflows, that can reduce an additional manual step.

Dual-Carriage Printing

The Vega S17 uses two separated carriages.

One carriage lays down color.

The second lays down white.

The film moves through the system as those layers are produced.

This separated color-and-white workflow is one of the defining features of the Vega S17 design.

Industrial Ricoh Piezo Printheads

The Vega S17 uses:

Industrial Ricoh Piezo Printheads

Print resolution:

600 × 600 DPI

That gives the system a professional print platform designed for detailed DTF production.

Sealed Color Prime Chroma Ink Cartridges

The Vega S17 uses sealed Color Prime Chroma cartridges operating under negative pressure.

This cartridge-based approach keeps ink management contained within the printer's production system.

For shops that prefer a cleaner, controlled ink workflow, that can be an attractive alternative to more open bulk-ink arrangements.

Automatic White-Ink Circulation

White ink is one of the most maintenance-sensitive parts of DTF production.

The Vega S17 is designed to circulate white ink automatically:

White ink circulates hourly.

That helps keep the white-ink system active during operation and idle periods.

Automatic Head Protection During Idle Time

If the printer sits unused for an extended period, the Vega S17 includes an automated maintenance function.

After approximately six hours idle, the heads cap into cleaning solution.

That is designed to help protect the printheads during downtime.

For users who may not run the printer continuously all day, this can be a valuable maintenance feature.

Compact Enough to Fit Through a Doorway

One of the standout specifications is the system depth.

Footprint Depth: 31.4"

That compact depth makes the Vega S17 easier to place in environments where larger DTF production systems may be difficult to install.

The ability to fit through a standard doorway can make installation much simpler for:

  • retail shops
  • offices
  • classrooms
  • smaller production areas
  • second-floor locations
  • businesses with narrow access

Machine Weight

Printer

243 lb

Station

384 lb

The Vega S17 is compact, but it is still professional production equipment and should be planned for accordingly when installing and moving the system.

Who Is the Vega S17 Best For?

The Vega S17 makes the most sense for shops that want DTF production but do not necessarily want a large traditional DTF production line.

Embroidery Shops

Embroidery shops can use DTF for:

  • full-color artwork
  • small quantities
  • graphics that are not practical to embroider
  • customer add-ons
  • faster short-run production

The compact footprint can make it easier to add DTF to an already crowded embroidery environment.

Screen Printing Shops

Screen printers may use DTF for:

  • low-quantity jobs
  • complex full-color artwork
  • names and numbers
  • short-turn work
  • artwork with too many colors for economical screen printing
  • supplemental production

The Vega S17 can provide another decoration option without requiring a wide-format production line.

Startups and Small Shops

For newer businesses, floor space can be one of the biggest constraints.

A compact integrated system can make DTF production more approachable when space is limited.

Schools and In-House Apparel Departments

The S17 can also make sense for organizations producing:

  • school spirit wear
  • team apparel
  • staff shirts
  • event apparel
  • club merchandise
  • internal promotional products

Its sheet-based workflow and inline cutting may be especially appealing where production is varied rather than continuous.

Boutiques and Custom Apparel Shops

Shops producing smaller quantities and highly customized work may benefit from the ability to create finished sheets in a compact workflow.

Why Integrated Workflow Matters

The real value of the Vega S17 is not any one specification.

It is the workflow.

Instead of:

Print → move film → powder → cure → manually cut

the Vega S17 is designed around:

Print → Powder → Cure → Cut

with those functions integrated into a compact system.

Fewer handoffs can mean:

  • less operator handling
  • fewer separate machines
  • less floor space
  • less manual cutting
  • a simpler production path

For the right shop, that can be more important than simply buying the widest printer available.

Vega S17 vs Wide-Format DTF

The Vega S17 is not intended to replace every type of DTF production system.

It serves a different role than a wide-format printer such as the X6.

Vega S17

Best suited for:

  • compact spaces
  • sheet-based production
  • integrated workflow
  • short runs
  • simplified handling

Wider DTF Systems

Best suited for:

  • very large gang sheets
  • oversized graphics
  • higher-volume roll production
  • greater width efficiency

The better choice depends on how your shop actually produces work.
