Dip tanks can be a valuable tool to speed up production in your pre-press department. Below are a few of the more popular ways to use a dip tank.
Remove the Emulsion Stencil
Use with Concentrated emulsion remover (SCP 650 or SCP 675)
After you have removed the ink and tape from the screen, place the screen into the dip tank and replace the lid with the hold-down rod to push the screen under the level of the chemical.
The stencil will start to soften quickly and will be ready to remove in just a minute or two. The stencil will be soft and should rinse easily with a pressure washer.
You can leave the screens in the dip tank for 5 to 10 minutes and the stencil may completely dissolve from the screen, depending on the strength of the chemical mixture in the dip tank.
Pro tip: Leaving the screens in the dip tank until the emulsion dissolves, will weaken the chemical faster and require more frequent cleaning of the dip tank.
Remove the Ink and Emulsion Stencil
Use with ECO5000 TKO Ink & Emulsion Remover
After you have tape and scraped excess ink from the screen, place the screen into the dip tank and replace the lid with the hold-down rod to push the screen under the level of the chemical.
The ink and stencil will start to soften quickly and will be ready to remove within a few minutes. Remove the screen, scrub briskly on both sides and pressure wash to remove ink and stencil.
Use ECO3000 Ink Degrader and Stain remover to remove any residual ink or stains.
Pro tip: The more ink you leave on the screens, the chemical will weaken faster and require more frequent cleaning of the dip tank.
